The Not So Beautiful Bill: What It Means for Wisconsin Families
As we know, Donald Trump is destroying our country and infringing on the rights of all Americans around the United States. The bill was introduced in May and made its way through the House and Senate, passing with a 218-214 vote, and was officially signed into law. What does this bill include, you may ask? It is an attack on Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP, among others, but I will spare you the details.
As I heard the news and updates about this bill, I was angered and outraged by it. President Trump doesn’t give a damn about any of the American people, because he has no issue taking away critical needs from us. We have seen disgusting behavior from Republicans and their responses to their constituents.
What I would like to talk about is how this bill will impact Wisconsin residents. As we know, Tammy Baldwin, Gwen Moore, and Mark Pocan all voted against the bill, prioritizing the care of their fellow constituents here in Wisconsin. Approximately 270,000–276,000 Wisconsin residents are projected to lose health care coverage solely due to this one bill. Tammy Baldwin called this bill cruel, irresponsible, and out of touch with Wisconsin’s working families. What I find astonishing is that these Republicans don’t care for the lower class but only their rich friends.
Sometimes I wonder, what happened to peace and love? Where did this go? Since the start of the second Trump presidency, we haven’t seen anything good. We are losing our healthcare, seeing families being torn apart, I mean, seriously, what can go wrong next?
Please leave me your thoughts below. I want to hear what others are concerned and worried about.
