A Year Later
I write this a year later with so much emotion and hurt. I can’t believe it’s been a year since the world turned upside down and things took a turn. I sat here in tears and had so much anger in me for the next year. Not only being in Green Bay a year ago tonight, and seeing some of my candidates take wins and losses, but crying over the phone to my own mother about me witnessing the 2nd woman loosing her presidential election.
I was proud to have campaigned for Biden Harris back in 2023, and months later start to campaign for Harris Walz. I was honored to be chosen to represent Wisconsin at the DNC 2024 in Chicago. At just 19 years old, I was able to do that. Being supported by friends and family. I was grateful to interviews for this campaign, and even with the loss, electing Amaad Rivera-Wagner, Ryan Spaude, and Jamie Wall. I was apart of that great moment for Northeastern, Wisconsin.
I am saddened to see the current status of our country. I pray, one day we find peace in this nation. We, the American people can have all the rights we deserve, us as people being looked on for our accomplishments, and not because of the color of our skin. We can love who we love, get the access to resources we need.
I will say this forever, but I am forever grateful to have voted for Kamala Harris for my first ever presidential election.
Civic engagement, and activism is in my blood. I will never stop working and will continue to fight for the American people.
